NHS Services

We offer the following Services to our patients

Children
Children are very welcome and encouraged to attend the practice. We feel these very special patients require a special effort to encourage good dental habits from an early age as it is possible for the early detection and prevention of dental decay.

Denture Repairs
Dentures can normally be repaired the same day unless the fracture is very complicated. Under current NHS regulations there is no patient's charge for denture repairs.

Oral Surgery
Consultant Oral Surgeons attend the practices to treat surgical cases under local anaesthesia or intravenous sedation. In view of the long hospital waiting lists, this is an invaluable service to our patients and provided under the NHS.

Orthodontics
A full range of Orthodontic treatment is available under the NHS. We recommend that all children have an orthodontic assessment at the ages of 8 and 12 years.

Sterilization
All instruments used in this practice are either disposable or sterilised by autoclaving before and after any treatment.

School, Playgroup, Club Visits
The practice has several Dental Health Educators, who would be pleased to arrange talks or demonstrations.

Emergencies
All our regularly attending patients in pain will be seen within 24 hours. Please try to ring the surgery between 9 - 10 am so that treatment can be arranged. Only the extremely urgent cases will be dealt with when busy.

Out of Hours Emergencies
1. Have a pen and paper ready.
2. Call the practice for a number to dial of the on-call duty dentist for advice.

Preventive Dentistry
Preventive dentistry focuses on the preservation of your natural teeth. It involves an examination to check your teeth and gums. We also screen for signs of oral cancer. Periodic cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants contribute to the overall health of your natural teeth.

Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry
Restorative and cosmetic dentistry involves the restoration of natural teeth that have been damaged, decayed, chipped, malformed, or lost. Dependent on the extent of restoration required, procedures include amalgam or composite fillings, gold or porcelain crowns, bridges, veneers, or implants.

Periodontics
Periodontics involves the treatment of gum tissue and bone that support the teeth. Treatment includes deep gum cleaning (scaling and root planing),

Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics deals with the replacement of missing teeth and other oral structures through the use of bridges, full and partial dentures, or implants.

Endodontics
An endodontic procedure, better known as root canal therapy, is a deep filling in your root. When the pulp tissue of the tooth is damaged or dead, it is cleaned out thoroughly. The area which the nerve once occupied is cleansed and shaped before a special filling is placed to seal it off. In most situations, an endodontically treated tooth must be restored with a post, core, and crown to remain strong.

Oral Surgery
Oral surgery involves the removal of teeth and other minor surgical procedures.

Full Range of NHS, Independant and Private Treatment Options available.
