About Us
Philosophy
To provide Quality Dentistry within the National Health Service.
History
The practice was founded when Mr. John Plummer took over his uncle's
single-handed dental practice in Great Yarmouth in 1971. It expanded
through the 1980's into other purpose-built Health Centres in the Great
Yarmouth area at Bradwell, Hemsby, Gorleston and Caister, using the
concept of total health care with Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists
practising in the same building. In the 1990's existing practices were
purchased in Suffolk at Lowestoft and Oulton Broad. The practice's
decision to remain totally within the National Health Service in 1991
and to offer high-quality Private Dentistry lead to a vast increase in
the number of patients. Fortunately the modern equipment and excellent
working conditions enabled the practice to attract more conscientious
skilled dental surgeons to our team, including Specialists in different
fields of Dentistry. In 1994 the practice built a purpose designed
Dental Centre at Thorpe St. Andrew. Similiar practices were completed in
Wymondham in 1998 and in New Costessey in 1999. In 2005 the Oulton Broad
practice relocated to the purpose-built health centre in Oulton Village.
Your Personal
Dental Surgeon
Each patient at our Practices is registered with their own "Personal
Dentist", who will care for their dental health. In some cases your
dentist may refer you to another dentist at the practice who specialises
in a particular branch of dentistry that may benefit you. If your
"Personal Dentist" is on a course or on holiday one of the other
partners will always provide dental treatment for you in cases of
emergency. All patients are free to change their "Personal Dentist"
within the practice at any time, providing that the dentist has space in
his/her appointment book.
Terms of Service
It is respectfully requested that all NHS charges are settled
immediately during or on completion of treatment. Occasionally with a
treatment involving external laboratory charges, a deposit may
requested. Pease not that failed appointments disadvantage other
patients who urgently need treatment.
