Wrinkle Treatments
Every time we laugh, smile
or frown, dynamic wrinkles are created by the contraction of delicate
facial muscles. Over the years these contractions leave us with
permanent wrinkles. By blocking impulses from the nerves to the muscles
we can relax and soften these lines giving dramatic improvement to the
appearance.

This treatment has been approved by the FDA and has now been in use for
over 30 years without any known long-term problems. It is suitable for
most people except those who are pregnant or breast feeding.
Wrinkle treatments do require very precise intra-muscular injections and
because of the detailed knowledge of facial anatomy and their experience
in giving delicate injections cosmetically trained dental surgeons are
ideally suited to performing these treatment painlessly.

The treatment takes about 15 minutes and there may be a slight redness
immediately afterwards which settles down within a few hours. The
application of ice helps and any redness is easily covered by make-up.
For 4 hours after the treatment you are advised not to do vigorous
exercise, drink excessive amounts of alcohol or lie down flat. Otherwise
life can carry on as usual.
The treatment starts to work after 3 - 5 days, but the greatest effect
is not seen for 2 weeks. It lasts for 3 - 6 months depending on each
individual's response. Repeat treatments tend to last longer.

Another form of treatment that works best on the nasolabial folds and
labial folds and areas around the mouth involves the injection of
fillers. Fillers are long-lasting gels that when injected into the skin
will lift and add volume to the areas being treated.
