Introducing Our Advanced Paediatric Dental Service
At John G Plummer & Associates, we understand that a child’s dental experience can be overwhelming. Dental anxiety or the need for unique behavioural management techniques can pose challenges for both children and parents. That’s why we are thrilled to introduce our private Paediatric Dental Service in Norwich, designed to make your child’s dental visit a stress-free and comfortable one.
We offer a range of services to promote healthy teeth and gums for your children, including regular dental health checks, prevention and treatments.
If your child is particularly nervous, we can work with them to build confidence in the dental chair and ensure stress-free visits.
We are also experienced with children who may have sensory difficulties, SEND, or those who may not have visited the dentist before.
What’s Included: From just £65 our paediatric dental service includes a full assessment of your child’s oral health, (if applicable) 2 x rays, evaluation of tooth eruption patterns, fluoride treatment, diet and nutritional advice, oral hygiene evaluation.
Specially tailored advice on oral habits (thumb sucking, dummies), evaluation of grinding or other destructive oral habits, discussion on how to prevent and care for dental trauma injuries.
Inhalation Sedation (Advanced Service)
We are proud to offer inhalation sedation (happy air) a safe and effective method to help children relax during their dental treatments. This gentle sedation option eases dental anxiety, making the experience more pleasant for your child. Our experienced and caring team will ensure that your little one feels secure and comfortable throughout their appointment.
Includes a comprehensive dental assessment of your child’s oral health, relevant x rays, treatment plan and fee estimate, introduction to treatment and preventative advice. During this appointment we will get to know your child and how we can work together to alleviate any anxiety around treatment.
On the Day
On your child’s sedation day, we’ll review the procedure steps again and are here to discuss any questions or concerns you might have.
The Procedure
We use a small, comfortable mask that fits over your child's nose. Through this mask, they will breathe in a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen. This safe gas mixture will help your child feel more at ease within a few minutes. They might feel a bit giggly, experience a tingling in their fingers or toes, and describe a sense of warmth or floating.
Recovery
After the dental treatment, recovery for your child is quick and straightforward. As soon as we stop the gas, the effects wear off rapidly. We'll monitor your child for a short time just to ensure they're feeling okay before you leave.
